The new joint projects between Portuguese industries and fashion designers have gained projection in Portugal and abroad.
Meam’s partnership with Ricardo Preto is currently one of the most paradigmatic examples of success. The designer has been responsible for this line collections, regularly presented in Portugal Fashion, and thus learned not only the technique, but also have had the commercial opening necessary to explore new possibilities.
«This partnership has been very important. I have grown and I think that it shows on the catwalk. The most recent collection is from someone who has already gained more experience making clothes for the masses. It is a vital partnership», admits the creator, which is still using this industrial “school” to draw lessons for his individual name brand. «Right now, we want to put the first line as strong as Meam by Ricardo Preto. So, we are going to start participating in a fair in Paris», he announces.
A natural development to go along with a changing world, as the designer says. «Changes are made, people think in new philosophies, in new ways of being. This always happened. Fashion is almost like a filter of society», he points out.
Meanwhile, Júlio Torcato maintains his link with the brand Red Oak and Alexandra Moura also does not regret joining forces with Goldmud footwear brand that, for four seasons ago, allowed her to expand her creative universe. Alexandra Moura + Goldmud collection is presented in Portugal Fashion and in ModaLisboa, complementing her own clothing collections that are also for sale in Alexandra Moura store, in Principe Real.
The designer projects also pass through international markets and she is already exploring Hong Kong and taking the first steps in Japan. «My big project is internationalization», she indicates.
