The Portuguese designer had presented in Paris a collection where structured, rigid and new volumes proposals build a new nature.
“Ad Naturam” was the motto of Autumn-Winter 2014/2015 collection that Fátima Lopes showed in Lido cabaret last Wednesday. «I have already presented in the most amazing places in Paris and in all of them there is an increased preoccupation with the space and this time I really wanted an amazing place», says the designer.
To create her new proposals, Fátima Lopes was inspired by nature and the way it protects itself. «There is a bit of masculine inspiration but with no disrespect to femininity», she states.
Sweaters, skirts and dresses are short, while the pants are baggy, like coats, complemented by «a graphic game with mixtures of materials much different from what we were used to see in Fátima Lopes, not only in forms but also in mixtures of completely different materials», she explains.
This is the case of knitting that appears in details. «When I was a little girl, I loved to knit, so I mixed tricot with fur, cashmere and fine materials», adds Fátima Lopes.
Wools and tartans are also part of the collection, combining with the transparency of voile musseline while in colours earth tones and nude mingle with intense blue, black and various shades of green. «All this is a little bit like playing around with nature but, above all, to create a very comfortable collection», highlights Fatima Lopes, a veteran in Paris.
«It really is a door that opens to globalization and it is fundamental. The country needs to export and without being in Paris it would be virtually impossible to achieve the international market», concludes the designer.
