South America is the next destination of the footwear and accessories designer which pretends to take his eponymous brand to countries like Chile and Colombia.
Committed in growing beyond borders, Luís Onofre has been seeking alternative markets for his own brand, known in Portugal for its elegance. But given the domestic market present situation, the batteries are pointed abroad. «Fortunately we have the possibility to export and have alternative markets», explains the designer.
Therefore, Luís Onofre new onset involves the other side of the Atlantic Ocean. «We will now initiate a prospection trip, already with scheduled meetings with some customers, and we will be almost a month and a half in South America, battling», reveals the footwear and accessories designer.
In an “advanced” state is a project in Colombia, namely in Bogotá and Medellín, «where we are practically creating a mono-brand store. I think it will still probably be in this summer season», he announces. This is a partnership project, because, as recognized by Luís Onofre, «Once my work is a creative one, I always try to establish partnerships with partners geared towards the commercial segment».
And there is no lack of creativity in the 300 items of the collection that the designer will take in his luggage to present at these new markets. For autumn-winter, Luís Onofre praises various shades of black as a result of a combination of different materials like suede, boxcalf, croco and fur.
“Black was a little bit my state of mind when I started. Then things were fading away into softer colours like brown, honey, bordeaux, green and have finished with pearl white pearl», he lists.
As regards design, Onofre has explored the theme of horsemanship. «Riding boots are undoubtedly the collection must», says the designer, who also designed stilettos with «vertiginous» heels and flat shoes. Mostly rigid and combining different colours and materials, handbags grow and reach «unexpected dimensions».
