On Portugal Fashion’s most eventful day, where Luis Onofre, Carlos Gil and Fátima Lopes collections were presented, industry and national brands were highlighted.
In a joint show, named Industry, Concrete and Mad Seeker Dragon (MDS) were the first brands to present their proposals, followed by spring-summer 2013 footwear collections of brands like Goldmud + Alexandra Moura , Cohibas, Dkode, Fly London, Silvia Rebatto and Nobrand.
In turn, Vicri, brought to the catwalk the television presenter John Manzarra, who dressed dungarees and shorts, in a collection that reminds summer, relaxation and beach, inspired by ice cream, especially in the colour palette.
Casual was the watchword for Meam by Ricardo Preto for next year warm season, mixed patterned skirts and blouses with monochromatic looks in bright colours, like yellow. «It is a step forward in my work that I am taking with Meam based on what I daily observe in life, on what I think women want to wear and is also easy to wear», explains Ricardo Preto.
The same casualness was found in Lion of Porches, which kept the brand colours – red, blue and white – as the dominant tones of the collection for men, women and children.
Yet, Dielmar mixed classic and tradition – translated in the perfect cut of its suits and coats –, with a more sportswear concept, namely with the product line Dielmar Weekend Cotton, with tailoring inspired pieces but with a more sporty look.
Regarding fashion designers, Carlos Gil filled the catwalk with glamour with his «Paris-Bangkok» collection, with mannequins wearing coordinated belted jacket and skirt or mini shorts in silk and brocade in pale shades of pink, green, blue and purple, topped by hats, to which were added flowery dresses.
In turn, Luís Onofre presented a multicoloured collection. Exotic was, therefore, the name given to this collection, marked by very high constructions, stiletto or platform, in contrast to flat sandals, using materials like varnish, croco and suede. Skin tone painted plexi heels were among some of the novelties.
Once again Fátima Lopes closed Portugal Fashion with the collection “Luxuriant Paradise,” mainly composed of dresses, jumpsuits and pants «inspired in Madeira, my homeland», says the designer.
Also in the same day, but in Espaço Bloom were presented the collections from ESAD, Árvore and Escola da Moda do Porto graduate students, followed by the proposals of Cláudia Garrido, Teresa Abrunhosa, Klar, Joana Ferreira and Jordann Santos .
